Doug’s first beer

Our first day in Munich was beautiful, sunny, and 60 degrees. The perfect day for wurst, sauerkraut, potatoes and beer in a beer garden crowded with locals. Timo (Doug’s friend) and his mother Astrid took us on the Ubahn to downtown Munich for this treat.

Douglas preferred the beer that came with lemonade in it rather than the regular beer.

We also saw Munich’s May Pole. Each town in Bavaria (the state in which Munich is the capitol), has a blue and white May Pole, which is supposed to have panels that represent that town’s craft. Munich’s May Pole has bier signs on it, so I guess beer is Munich’s “craft.”
