Our final day in Dresden was again rainy and cold. We checked out of our room and stored our luggage in the lobby with the friendly Dresden lady behind the desk. We decided that a good activity would be the indoor tour of the Saxon Royal Palace.
The museum had an odd rule. The first floor bathroom was ticket access only. If you buy a ticket to the museum, you can go to that bathroom ONE TIME with your ticket.
Unfortunately, we didn’t realize that until we went to the bathroom again. If you know our family, you know that multiple bathroom visits are likely. We were there for several hours after all. The cleaning lady sighed and let Nezzie and me in a second time. We did discover at the museum restaurant another bathroom that was less restrictive.
The exhibits were nice to walk through, but not the best we’ve seen.

However, the men’s clothing proved most amusing. How did we know it was men’s clothing without reading the signs?

I guess the guys needed extra protection? Extra warmth? Showing off? Ha ha ha!
In addition to that hilarity, we had a delicious lunch at the palace restaurant – a duck vegetable stew. So satisfying. I love these Saxon stews.

When we picked up our luggage, the friendly Dresden clerk gave us a bag of Christstollen, a traditional German holiday pastry. So nice! It was a good train snack and great with coffee the next morning in Prague.
We haven’t seen much snow on this trip. The rain turned to snow a bit on our last night in Dresden. It didn’t stick. However, on the train to Prague, we saw some lovely snowy scenes before nightfall.

See you in Prague!
