San Sebastián is a lovely little Basque town on the northern coast of Spain. It’s a relatively small town compared to the other places we have visited on this trip. So the pace is a little slower. However, it’s a very walkable town, and we still racked up the Fitbit steps.
With a long history of fishing in San Sebastián, seafood is a specialty, especially anchovies. Also a culinary specialty are pintxos, small snacks. Extra, extra special are the anchovy pintxos.
Stateside, anchovies are not part of our diet. But here in San Sebastián?

We also tried many other kinds of pintxos during our two days here. All really delicious.

One of the interesting indoor attractions we visited is the local aquarium. This tank seemed to have a lot of what we have eaten while here.

The aquarium also featured an undersea nativity. I feel like there should have been angelfish in this tank.

Other aquarium scenes:

As with most resort towns, the beach and the bay are the main attractions, and the streets are still decorated for the holidays. We enjoyed long walks along the beach promenade and through the old town.

It was a nice break as we head into our last few days of this awesome trip. We travel to Madrid by train tomorrow!
